Lawson's Birthday Party

More Party Pics

Lawson had his birthday party the Saturday after his real bday. It was really fun. Pop,Mimi,Terra and Caden all came in from Abilene and some great friends from Borger all came as well. We had burgers and cake:) La-man wasn't really that into it all that much, he just wanted to play in the sand:) But we made a great memory and I still can't believe he is 1!!!!

Lawson is 1!!!!

Today is the La-man's 1st Birthday and it has been so much fun. He is so funny and just entering such a crazy, busy and sweet age. I want to list 10 things to my little guy that I love.. I have seen this on other blogs and wanted to steal the idea because it was so good:)

10.You are so stinkin' squishy, I want to squeeze you all the time;)

9.You are so funny. You already have such a sense of humor and a pinch of ornery.I love when I tell you no-no, and you look at me show me those two pearly whites and shake your head with a vengeance as you repeat back to me, no-no no-no, as if it were your idea:)

8.I love how you are all boy!!! I mean rock eating, sand throwing, outlet plug finger stickin, head throwing, body bucking, remote loving BOY!!!!

7.I love how you light up when those you love walk in the room. I can already see compassion and encouragement in you. You smile so freely when you see your sister or when we pull up to Daddy's work and you start freakin' out yelling(and i do mean yelling) da-da, da-da....and then lung for him with all you have. Or when you see or your nona or pop pop and you just get so excited. It is a blessing to watch your joy for life overflow.

6.I love the way you look for me in the house when you have lost tabs on me. First I hear the pitter patter of hands and knees for a few seconds. Then I hear your booty hit the floor as you sit up.... then like literal music to my ears..... my momma? my momma? then the pitter patters again towards my voice and a mixture of grunting and my momma? continues until you spot me and throw those precious arms in the air waiting for me to pick you up:)

5.I love how you shovel in your food and nibble on your chubby little fingers with every bite and then promptly look at me and say "Mo my momma Mo!" You can put away the groceries son and it makes me laugh.

4.I love to watch you learn. You listen to books like no child I have ever seen. It is crazy how still your busy little body gets and how you focus on each page and every word that comes from my lips. I think it is awesome how you love the trucks and diggers book and how do you know to love that, refer to the point i made earlier about you being all boy....

3.It is great to watch you dance. It can make me cry I am laughing so hard as you raise the roof so hard with both your chubby little arms that you fall over backwards and belly laugh. Then come right back for more:)

2.I love that you have such a gentle spirit in the midst of all your boy. It is the most incredible thing when you cry when your sister does. Or for that matter when another child is upset at all. It is amazing the way you great me with an open mouth kiss and bury your head into my chest to give love. Moments to treasure forever when you wake up in your bed and lay there forever singing, I have no doubt that goes straight to our Father's ears. It is literally angelic.

1.The thing I love most is you are my REWARD. Little did I know what God had in mind when I found out you were on your way. It had been and was a really rough season and I had not planned on a little guy entering the picture. I remember finding out you were coming and feeling so very inadequate and scared to bring you into what I thought was a mess. God assured me you were coming in perfect time and you were my reward. I walked that in faith until the moment I met you and instantly it was a reality. It was as if God was painting a masterpiece and he had already done a pretty good job, I just couldn't see the whole picture. I knew Addie Grace was all the bright on the page and more than enough beauty for the piece to be finished. But God had some finishing touches and when you entered our family it was clear to me, God was given me a reward for staying in the mess long enough to see it was never a mess but a work in progress. My little boy you show me love and give me love in a way that is straight from our Father. He has blessed me with your life and I pray he grants me the wisdom and clarity to be a blessing in yours. Thanks little man for being my reward:) "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I am living my baby you'll be."

Mothers Day

This weekend as most of you know is Mother's Day and if you don't heads up:) I went to a program at Addison's school today and it was so endearing. The teacher read through her tears the book "I'll love you forever." I have read and heard this book so many times and so enjoyed it each time. But today it was different in every way. I sat and looked at my precious little girl so sweet so full of love for me for no reason other than I am her mommy. She kept glancing over at me in the way that she does so concerned. I was tearing up as the pages went along, and she was sensing I was emotional. As she watched me her eyes filled with tears as well. It was overwhelming really. She crawled over and got in my lap and put her arms around me as the story ended and asked me are you ok, and I said yes I am happy-sad. She said well then I am too.... WOW. The responsibility we have as mommies, if I am ok then so is she, it is really that simple. And as I reflected on that moment with my 4 year old I began to realize the parallels this rang out to me about Christ. If only I would gaze upon him as Addison does me, looking for a simple security. If only I would cling to his words when he said "it is finished." He meant those words as literally as I meant mine when I looked at her precious face and told her I was ok. If I would rest so soundly and so easily upon his words. If I would look to his face and in that alone find my place and my security. If just as Addison does, I would study him with deep concern and then take his answers to heart. I can't tell you how full my heart is, how deeply honored I am to be a mother. It goes past words the feeling I get when I think of what God has given me in my 2 precious children. The simplicity they represent is life changing for me. The gift they give to me in the way they just live is beyond comparison. All these things I feel of them the Heavenly Father feels of me. That simple. Today I am not only thankful for my God, but for the gifts he so freely gives. My cup is stupid full with joy unspeakable. Praise God for all he does is good. Praise God for the gift of mothers and for the gift of getting to be one:)
Let us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like. Ephesians 1:3

Gone Fishin'

Saturday Larry took Addison to feed the ducks and fish. She LOVED it:) She is already asking when they can go back. Here are some pics. She has such a good daddy, we are truely blessed:)

Last Game of the Season

It was a pretty day yesterday... a little bit chilly like 42 degrees for Addison's last soccer game of the year. Of course the wind was like blowing 100 miles an hour which didn't help. Addison has done great in soccer this year, she scored and was great at blocking and assisting. She really picked the game up by the end of the year. So here are some pics of her with her pride and glory "the trophy." You can't believe how proud she is of this thing. We take it to brush our teeth, to go to bed, it sits in the living room with us. It is so cute:) It was a great learning experience, we will she if she wants to play again?

HILARIOUS!!!!

Yesterday I was in the back of the house and I could here Lawson screaming like none other. So I ran into the back living room and he was trapped in the dog crate. It was laugh out loud hilarious.... I mean I was laughing so stinkin' hard:0 Addison is like Mommy it isn't funny bubby is crying, meanwhile I am scrambling for the pic of course... anyway it was great. I rescued him and all was well. Later that afternoon we were in there playing and he kept looking at the crate and saying " dog--no no, no no dog" it was so funny:)

Silly Kiddos

These are just pics of my two kiddos being crazy. They had just gotten in from going on a walk with their dad and then playing in the sand box where Addison had poured 4 cups of sand to be exact down Lawson's pants ( they were playing with measuring cups in the sandbox) So after Lawsons bath to get the sand out of his crack, they had the sillies big time and these were a few of the pics. They are really getting funny together, they play all the time now. The interaction is hilarious and the squabbles are just too much. They love each other so much it is amazing to me. Siblings are such a blessing from God and such a gift for parents to watch. They bring me unspeakable joy:)

Going Somewhere

Larry had been on a trip to Kansas City and just this once he left his stuff out when he got back :) And Lawson helped himself to the suitcase :) Just to clear the water he doesn't have a black eye. He has infections in both his eyes and they look pretty bad, he also has infections in both his ears so send a little prayer up for him. But just notice it hasn't slowed him down much at all. he crawled in and out of this thing it must have been 100 times and then he had his snack in there and he just had himself a good ole' time... it was really cute so I thought I would share:)

Aaaargh Matey!!!!!

Pirate Day at WeeSchool. That's right folks we had a real pirate on our hands last week. She was decked out. It was hilarious I had gone to the dollar store and gotten all the pirate decor you could think of . We had the patch, the hook hand, the sword.... what else could you need. Addison told me we were missing something and promptly came back from her room with a ring on the end of her hook hand. I mean sooooooo sorry on that one. She then explained to me all pirates wear rings on their hooks if they are the real deal... so there you have it:)
ps the sunglasses and necklace were a bit of a hippie twist on the whole pirate theme, she was dead set on adding them in on the look and we went with it:)
